Q&Aed

If you’ve always wanted to know what I think the best romantic hangout in Las Vegas is, your modest dreams have come true. There’s a Q & A with me up on VEGASLINKS.BLOGSPOT.COM.

In the “great minds think alike” vein, check out my answer to what I consider the best place to get my groove on, then trip a little further down to another legendary Vegas blogger. Funny stuff.

3 Thoughts on “Q&Aed

  1. I love how you picked “The Reading Room at Mandalay Bay” as your “Secret Everyone Should Know”. People think I’m joking when I tell them that one of the things I look forward to in my frequent jaunts to Vegas is stopping by there to see what new Vegas/Vegas History books might be there (I just bought your “Roll the Bones” there recently, though, of course, it’s not necessarily new).

Alas, I was crestfallen to learn its time there is ticking away since Mandalay has put up the space for lease. During the aforementioned visit, I asked the clerk there when the place will indeed permanently close. She said that the prospective replacement’s funding apparently fell through, so now there’s no one else willing to pay for the space yet, so I guess Mandalay is just letting it stay until a wealthy paramour comes along.

However, I’m hearing that Mr. Schaeffer will reopen “The Reading Room” or place like it when Fontainebleau opens. Let’s hope.

  2. hysterical. love the new blog background too!

  3. Great list. I would like to comment on two of your choices. The first is “Best Off Strip Day Excursion or Adventure” which you chose Turtlehead Peak Climb at Red Rock. I agree with you 100%. When I lived in Las Vegas from 1995 to 1998 occasionally I would hike up to the top of Turtlehead Peak Climb and look at the entire Las Vegas Valley and it is an unbelievable view. What was also pretty cool was when you would look down there was a small town called Calico Basin. The cars would look like small dots driving around. The best place to drink and hold a conversation in my opinion is Champagne’s Cafe on Maryland Parkway. This is a great bar and there are plenty of seats at the “L” shaped bar away from the video poker machines where you can drink and talk to someone.
